World's Smallest Woman Joins Cast of 'American Horror Story:Freak Show'

The smallest living woman in the world:Jyoti Amge

This season,American Horror Story is taking a page from the Guinness Book of World Records for its latest casting recruit.

Ryan Murphy,the anthology series showrunner,took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the casting news that Jyoti Amge,the smallest living woman in the world,has been tapped for a role in the upcoming season of FX’s American Horror Story:Freak Show,along with a picture of series star Jessica Lange with Amge.

 Jyoti Amge has joined the cast of the fourth season of the FX's American Horror Story.

Amge,the 20-year-old Indian woman,is only 24.7 inches tall because of a growth anomaly called achondroplasia.She is considered the world’s shortest woman by both Guinness and Limca Book of Records.

Amge joins the Patti LaBelle,who will appear in four episodes as Gabourey Sidibe's character's mother,as those recently cast in AHS: Freaks.But there’s no word on the capacity of Amge’s role or number of episodes in which she is set to appear.

This is not her first time on television.Amge was featured in a 2009 documentary,Body Shock:Two Food High Teen,and was a guest on Bigg Boss 6,an Indian Big Brother-like TV competition show.
Amge is considered the world’s shortest woman by both  Guinness and Limca Book of Records.

The forth season of the anthology series,subtitled Freak Show, is set in Jupiter,Fla.,in the 1950s,with Jessica Lange in the lead role.The Emmy winner will portray a German expat managing one of the last remaining freak shows in the country.

AHS mainstays Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts return for new roles and are joined by newcomers Michael Chiklis,The Hunger Game’s Wes Bentley,Fargo’s John Carroll Lynch and The Normal Heart’s Finn Wittrock.Season 4 debuts in October on FX.
