Last year, McDonald’s started letting customers buy meals using Apple Pay on their iPhones. This year, they start accepting "Lovin" as payment for Fries.

And there's some good news and some not so good news. Yes, McDonald's french fries are made with real potatoes. However, they also contain a whole lot of extras.

The revelations come from the fast-food chain's new video, the latest in a series called "Our food. Your questions" in which Mythbusters co-host Grant Imahara tries to debunk rumors about their food.

In the clip, Imahara, "reverse engineers" the process of french fry production, to trace the food right back to the source: a potato that comes straight from the ground.

McDonald's french fries, according to the video, have 19 ingredients. But relax, each of those 19 ingredients is essential.

In fact, people visit cheap burger chains for a respite from their (hopefully) healthier dietary regimens, not for yet another reminder from their conscience that they could be eating something better for them. Maybe when it comes to fast food french fries, the less people know, the more they can enjoy the food.
