Though you may not believe it, WWE is one of the most charitable sports organizations in history. This may sound surprising to some, since every sports organizations works for charity, and WWE doesn’t exactly come across as being one of the most charitable sports organizations.

But the truth is that they have done much more than they’ve been asked to do when it comes to helping those who are not so fortunate. Throughout multiple decades, WWE has either led or been a part of multiple charity organizations.

However, not only has the organization itself been involved in numerous charity organizations, so have the individual superstars. Many of the wrestling stars who we see duke it out in the ring are actually very generous when it comes to charity, dedicating much of their money and time to several causes and individuals.

As we shall see, many of these superstars donate their money to charity through the Make-A-Wish foundation, which provides children who have life threatening diseases to take part in WWE events and meet and spend time with the WWE superstars. But as we shall also see, WWE is also involved in numerous other charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

There are also many other small charities that WWE and WWE superstars are involved in as well, not just the big ones. Some WWE superstars even fight each other in the ring for charity. WWE wrestling is one of the toughest sports in the world, since sometimes wrestling superstars have to spend as much as a whopping eighty percent of their days in the ring.

Considering the fact that so much of these superstars time is already taken up, it’s a wonder that they can dedicate their time to charity in the first place. So regardless of whether you think WWE is a real sport or not, one simply cannot deny the amount of time and money that WWE and its superstars have dedicated to charitable purposes and organizations.

10. The Undertaker

A few years ago, The Undertaker raffled off his prized motorcycle, a West Coast Chopper named Ghost. All of the money that was raised from the raffle went to the American Mighty Warriors Veterans Support Group, and the Lake Hills Church in Austin.

Ghost was also The Undertaker’s last motorcycle at the time, and also his favorite one out of all the motorcycles that he owned, so giving it up for a raffle was seen as very generous from a superstar who is renowned for being utterly ruthless in the ring.

Randy Orton has regularly dedicated his time to the Kids Wish Network, meeting with fans of his, many of whom are young children who have terminal diseases. All in all, not very many other WWE superstars have dedicated as much time to the Kids Wish Network as Orton has.

WWE superstar, Rey Mysterio has been regularly involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is an organization that grants kids who are threatened with a terminal illness, a wish. Mysterio is the favorite wrestler of many of these kids, and he has touched the lives of thousands of children all over the country.

CM Punk is not only a major WWE superstar; he was also once the World Heavyweight Champion. But beyond his skills in the wrestling ring, CM Punk has also proven to be very generous outside of the arena. He took part in the Kerry Wood’s Strike Zone Celebrity Bowling Tournament, to bowl for charity, and also worked with the Organic School Project in Chicago to help kids eat healthier. Punk himself has stated his desire and passion for helping kids make good and healthy food choices from an early age.

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson has formed the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation, which helps children who have special needs. The foundation provides money to lend a hand in the recovery of these children, many of whom have had to spend most, if not all, of their lives in the hospital.

Due to the immense success of the foundation, Dwayne has expanded and now also works to help children who struggle with obesity and who haven’t received a very complete or decent education.

He regularly raises tens of thousands of dollars at fundraisers and meets with fans, including children with disabilities or terminal illnesses, everyday.

Triple H, along with his wife Stephanie McMahon, has formed a charity called Connor’s Cure, which is funded via the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Triple H was inspired to start the charity after an eight-year-old Pittsburgh native, with the name of Connor, passed away due to a terminal illness. Connor became well known throughout the city of Pittsburgh and inspired others all across the nation, to fight their own personal medical problems.

Even though Connor eventually passed away due to the cancer, it was he who inspired Triple H’s charity and has brought benefits to countless other families and children. The money raised through the charity is usually for brain and spinal research, as well as for care for children with terminal illnesses in the hospital.

Vince McMahon, along with his wife Linda, has donated over eight million dollars to many universities and military schools throughout the country. They also paid in full price for the construction of a tennis facility in Pennsylvania, and have also served with the Close Up Foundation for field trips for elementary and middle school students to come to Washington D.C. All in all, there haven’t been too many other WWE superstars who have given away as many millions as Vince McMahon.

Although he has since passed on, Andre the Giant has been widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers of all time. Standing at over seven feet, four inches, Andre hailed from the French Alps and was immensely popular all throughout the world.

But despite his immense size and skill in the ring, he was also renowned for his very affectionate and generous nature, regularly giving away much of his money to people and organizations, and also being a very good-hearted person to be with as well.

The most generous WWE superstar of all time is undoubtedly, John Cena. He is an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant kids wishes who have life threatening or terminal illnesses and diseases.

He has also worked to expand the Make-A-Wish Foundation throughout the nation, and by 2012, Cena was the number one wish granting WWE superstar in the United States, granting an average of three hundred wishes every day, but that number continues to grow. He has also given away millions of dollars and meets several kids and fans of his, every single week. He has also worked with NBA superstar and legend, Michael Jordan for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cena works an average of three hundred days each year as a wrestler, and it seems as if all of his spare time is spent on charities and granting kids’ wishes. A very valid question to ask Cena would be when he gets the time to sleep!
