Fitness blogger and new mom Kelsey Wells wanted to lose weight after she gave birth to her son. In a new Instagram post, she reveals that didn't happen - but something better did.

On Tuesday, the popular Instagram fitness model uploaded three telling photos of herself at varying stages of her fitness journey.

In the photos, Wells appears in a bikini weighing 145 pounds, 122 pounds and 140 pounds. She bares all for people to see as she is unafraid to share with people the truth that she's discovered.

"I weighed 130 before getting pregnant, so based on nothing besides my own warped perception, I decided my "goal weight" should be 122 and to fit into my skinniest jeans," Wells wrote in a post on Instagram.

But after committing to a fitness regimen, Wells noticed she actually started to gain weight.

"As a matter of fact I ripped those skinny jeans wide open just the other week trying to pull them up over my knees," she wrote.

However, Wells also said she's never felt healthier or more comfortable in her own skin.

"According to my old self and flawed standards, I would be failing miserably," she wrote. "Thank goodness I finally learned to start measuring my progress by the things that matter - strength, ability, endurance, health and happiness."

Many people seem to have an obsession with numbers on the scale, but it isn't a true measurement of one's strength or beauty. It's not about being skinny, but rather about being fit and healthy.
