NBA player Greg Oden was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly punching ex-girlfriend.

Former Miami Heat center Greg Oden,26, was arrested on Thursday morning in Indiana on suspicion of punching his ex-girlfriend in the face.No official charges have been filed yet.

Police in Lawrence,Ind.,were called to the home of Oden’s mom around 3:30 a.m. Thursday for a reported disturbance. They found a woman lying down with blood on her face when they arrived.

The officer noticed “blood, swelling to the nose, lacerations to the forehead and nose area” of the victim’s face. And the report also said blood was spotted on the sofa and floor,as well as dirt on the ground from a flower pot that had been knocked over.

“He punched her in the face.” said a witness of the incident, who claims to be the best friend of the victim.

But the victim refused medical attention and refused to cooperate with the police regarding the incident as well.

As for Oden,a free agent NBA player, was cooperative and took full responsibility for his actions. He told officers that he and the victim had broke up nearly two months ago after about two years and claimed that “things got out of control”.

“I was wrong and I know what has to happen,”said Oden, whom police described as “calm, apologetic and cooperative”when they spoke with him.

Oden was taken into custody and transported to the APC.No charges have been filed yet against him and an officer said this would be considered a misdemeanor battery as no weapons involved at all.

Oden was taken into custody and transported to the APC.

The NBA has not yet responded to the incident because they might need more time to figure out a wisest solution.Or the NBA may come under fire just as the NFL suffered weeks ago.
