Hoping to pop along to the Victoria's Secret fashion show this year?

Hate to break it to you, but you won't get your bum on a seat for less than $16,000 a ticket if your name is not Kanye, Kim K or Beyonce.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2013

We can understand why tickets for the show are in high demand what with the main spectacle being supermodels walking a catwalk, scantily clad, in bejewelled and wonderfully crafted bras and undies. But is it something to shell out more than $16,000 for?

Bespoke event management and luxury concierge company, Pure Entertainment Group, offers a very limited number of tickets, at a cost of US$16,000 per ticket, with an additional estimated commission of $1000-2500.

"It's important to note that this is one of the most exclusive social events of the year as it attracts celebrities and VIP guests from all around the world," the company states.

The Victoria's Secret fashion show has become the Super Bowl of all fashion shows since it started 18 years ago. While the budget for the first show in 1995 was reported to be just $120,000, it is now 100 times that at $12 million this year. Even if it cost more, that’s paltry compared to Victoria’s Secret’s approximately $6.6 billion in annual sales last year.

That may be the reason of 6 of the 10 highest paid models in 2013, according to Forbes, work for Victoria's Secret.

It’s not a coincidence the show usually airs during the first week of December. By hitting about a week after the retail insanity that is Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Victoria’s Secret gets an extra shopping bump after viewers see the sparkly lingerie modeled by Angels in six-inch heels. In 2013, Victoria’s Secret’s direct business hit a daily high after the show aired.

Bruno Mars in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The star-studded audience has previously included celebrities such as Jay-Z, Beyonce, Orlando Bloom, Elton John, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, Derek Jeter and Serena Williams. Music sensations such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Usher have all performed at the extraordinary runway event.

Warning: Attendance does not equal a Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend. Unless you’re Leonardo DiCaprio or Orlando Bloom, who get to go for free. So how much would you pay to sit among the stars?
