10 Rare Cristiano Ronaldo Photos You Need To See
We all see Ronaldo as an immaculate soccer player.
But there are certain sides of the Portuguese’s life that the general public don’t get to see.
So let’s take a look at these 10 rare photographs from some of Cristiano’s younger days, back to times quite simply before he was the global footballing superstar that we all know and love/hate.
1. International Debut
After moving to Manchester United in the summer of 2003, the then-18-year-old made his international debut in August the same year.
Positioned on the substitutes’ bench alongside Jorge Andrada and Simao, Ronaldo would make his full Portugal bow in a friendly against the mighty Kazakhstan.
With a skinny frame, gel-heavy hair, and an almost nervous glance in the photo we rarely see, this was a Cristiano who had a fair way to go to become the world-beater that he is today.
Together at Manchester United the duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney tore many a defence to shreds and brought many a piece of silverware to Old Trafford.
Before butting heads internationally, the teenage pair faced off in the Premiership when Rooney was breaking through at boyhood club Everton.
This photo rarely seen was taken during the 2003/04 season. Rooney would join Ronaldo at United in August 2004 for a hefty £25.6 million.
3. Holy Trinity
When Raul made an emotional move from the Bernabeu to head to the Bundesliga, there was some talk of the Real number 7 shirt being retired.
Not on Ronaldo’s watch. Having worn the number 9 during his first season at Real, the ever cocksure Ronny changed over to the number 7 shirt.
In terms of Real Madrid royalty, they don’t get much bigger than Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul and Zinedine Zidane. This rare photo finds the three together at the Madrid Open tennis tournament.
